THE MIAMI ROPE BRIDGE

Miami Rope Bridges is an artistic workshop series inspired by South American rope bridge builders. The main project involves collaboratively crafting a rope bridge from upcycled fabrics. This isn't just an artwork; it represents connections between people, histories, and institutions. With expert artists and facilitators leading sessions, participants will learn, share stories, and emphasize community engagement. It is being made using fabrics donated by the community. The use of repurposed fabrics showcases sustainability, resourcefulness, but also literally weaves in the actual community fabric. The initiative, led by Sterling Rook, integrates traditional Andean techniques with contemporary ones, honoring their craftsmanship. Beyond art, the project is about building bridges across cultures and experiences, promoting understanding, empathy, and unity. Join in weaving a legacy of interconnectedness and collective spirit
